AJ Hawk is a professional American football player. He plays for the Cleveland Browns. Hawk was born on May 22, 1984, in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Hazelwood East High School in Florissant, Missouri and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player both his junior and senior years.

He was recruited by several colleges but decided to play at the University of Missouri instead of attending a university closer to home. After redshirting his freshman year in 2001, he started four games during his sophomore season in 2002 before suffering an injury that sidelined him for most of 2003.
